I'm back!

Looooong time no see. I wasn't able to log on to my blog for some strange reason. And I never had time to fix it. But ANYWAY I am so happy to be back! I have to say, I did finish my Margarita skirt, and Spring is around the corner. Yay! I've been pretty crafty during my time away, mainly concocting nourishing skin serums for me and friends. Still have craft ADD. But that's whats so fun about being crafty!

It's HALLOWEEN!..YEEAAH!

My favorite day of the year is here! I am a vampire for the day, and my daughter is a bumble bee. It's so cool that for one day people are allowed to let their imaginations go wild! My brain is going crazy on my skirt project. My sewing machine has not been cooperating with me this week. I have re-threaded my machine several times, changed the thread itself, changed the needle.And it's still making this awful gathering effect on my skirt, making it look more like a curtain. In the meantime, I have been reading up on anything that has to do with mixed media art. Can you believe I had this idea of putting images on fabric, and had no idea it was called "mixed media"? Amazing, they have a name for it! Lol. Man, am I behind! Hilarious,

La Margarita in progress

My friend Cyndi, and I have named this wrap skirt "La Margarita". I am making one for her as well, and we are planning to go out, and sip our margaritas come spring time in these skirts! That's a good incentive to get these skirts done, dont you think? lol

Happy Apron Improvised

My happy apron looks nothing like the pattern I started out with. I had to do some improvising because I botched up the bottom trim. I'm pretty happy with the outcome, and I learned alot from this project. The waist is made up of the whimsical contrast fabric, and the ends of the waistbands wrap around in front, like a wrap skirt (I like that ). Done!

Project #2

My next project is going to be a wrap skirt. I honestly think it'll be easier than the happy apron. Which isn't so happy right about now, since I haven't finished it. But it will be done very soon! Here is the fabric and the skirt. It's a bit more summerish. But I'm willing to wear around the house, on nice relaxing days until next Spring. So excited!
