There is a huge sale going on this whole weekend at voguepatterns.com for Columbus Day. Yay! I got these vogue patterns for 5 each. Not bad, since they run about 15 dollars each. Of course, I have to take advantage of discounted fabric on many websites. These styles are soooo me. Easy Vogue- V8514, and Easy Vogue V8650. (In that order.)

Ideas for Fall
So, I decided that once I get the fabric, and actually feel the texture, I will decide which pattern it will work with the best. Reasonable, right? Below are more ideas I'm crazy about! Fall season I am ready for you!

Almost there
So, just wanted to check in before my big night out. And I mean big night out because we are making a special stop before dinner. Oh yeah, my friend gots the hook-up! Lmao. Actually, it's pretty nerdy but the owner of a sewing repair shop is going to let us in "after hours", lol, to see all the old vintage machines that are repaired and sold. Rows, and rows of these workhorse babies. I'm so excited! Alright, so here is my happy little apron in it's almost final stages. Obviously, it still needs the waistband straps, the lower section has to be sewn together and trimmed with red bias tape. I really like my whimsical apron, but it will be a LONG LONG time before I dare to make another apron again. Nuff said! Amen!

Upcoming project/Asian print fabric
Below is a swatch of the fabric I ordered and anxiously awaiting. I originally ordered it for the empire waist top. But I prefer to use it for The Indian Summer Dress pattern from Chic & Simple Sewing book. That means no zippers, no buttonholes, woohooo! It's just very basic, and pretty like something I would wear. I also want to make this dress in gingham as shown in the picture. Aaaaah sooo many ideas, lol. Told you I'm all over the place!
Fabric Fiend
Well, the apron is turning out to be a little more complicated than I thought it would be. I thought it was EASY! I'm still aiming to get it done this week. My ambitions and goals are all over the place right now. Because I'm falling in love with all kinds of fabrics. I ordered some asian print fabric, and I can't wait to get the package. So, I will post exactly what I intend to use that fabric for right away. I want to hold myself accountable for the project right now! lol. I'm really excited about finishing my whimsical happy apron, and seeing it with my own eyes :)

Sewing Soundtrack
I love the whir of my sewing machine, but I find that I get too easily distracted by other noises. It's very hard to focus when I can hear a television from another room, or children laughing, or playing. Especially, when I'm having a hard time getting the stitches right. So, today I popped on my mp3, and it was all good. I relaxed, and just enjoyed the process. Except for when I made a mistake, lol. At least it was just me, my machine, my fabric, and my music.

Progress on Happy Apron
Very little progress, ugh. I can't believe I worked all day on a pocket. Is that normal? Well, not all day, just before, and after work. I used my thread ripper so many times to undo my mistakes. The fabric was getting too worn out. I had to remind myself that this is only my first project. But let me tell you, I ripped, and I ripped stitches after stitches. The ripper really helps with a couple of mistakes, but the fabric looks worse to more you rip. Duh! lol. Anyway, here it is..the happy apron's pocket!
